Ayn-Monique Klahre is a writer, editor, and content director. She has been the editor of WALTER, Raleigh’s arts and culture magazine, since 2018. Through her work, she gets to connect with emerging artists, local musicians, area chefs and restaurateurs, community activists, businesspeople, and all sorts of characters that make this corner of North Carolina an incredible place to live.
Prior to moving to Raleigh, Ayn-Monique spent over a decade in New York City, working her way up as an editor at InStyle, Woman's Day, Good Housekeeping and FamilyFun magazines. There, she researched, wrote, and produced stories for print and digital about all sorts of lifestyle topics, including decorating, home improvement, organization, entertaining, and crafting.
In addition to her editorial positions, Ayn-Monique has written for many media outlets, including Gulfshore Life, Real Simple, Parents, Better Homes & Gardens, Business Insider, Apartment Therapy and The New York Times.
Ayn-Monique graduated from Princeton University and received a certificate in Publishing from the Columbia Journalism School.
